Globalization has not only broken the barriers but also shattered the conventional concept of business. This hold good for the Refractories industry as much as for other industries. The traditional curtains between internal and external, national and international are being swept away by the gale of globalization. We are now living in a world of accelerated change, dislocation and uncertainty, at the same time, the unprecedented opportunity for economic freedom, technology innovation and wealth generation has created a ‘brave new world’. In this context, a large section of Indian refractory makers who traditionally reminder confined in a predetermined stage of beliefs and practices , need to gear up to accept these challenge and cope with change to remain competitive in global market.
